It appears that you have gone off the mark with with your last paragraph by attempting to draw the thread in a different direction than my statements.
I will summarize my sentiments by stating that there could be a potential market for Brians work out there via shooters, hunters and collectors. My criteria for buying a barrel might differ from yours and the areas I mentioned in producing a barrel "potentially could be" arduous for Kent, Larry or Brian...which is my right to state. I am familiar with Brians work also and support his efforts if he choose to go with it...so Brian If you come up with a price, production time and options...I know Iwill be in!

Like I said right up front, I wasn’t following your post, as when I think about a Larry Grossman Bbl, I think about his jaw dropping customs, not anything production he has done. And I know I am not alone thinking about Larrys customs when you drop the term “Larry Grossman Quality”.

So I’m not sure I was attempting to draw the conversation in any particular direction, just responding to what I was reading and attempting to understand what was being said.

Fortunately it appears that we are actually on the same page.  Embarrassed

CHEERS!

Brian, I'm with the crowd, 8-1/2" VR 44 or 357.  If u can make em for around $1500 they will sell.  $1500 to $2000 still reach-able.  Above $2000, collectors and rich dudes/for safe queens.  I still like to use my stuff.  But I have to be alittle practical too.  fwiw

I'm interested but I'll have to do some work on importation....I know a guy but it's been a while since I've imported anything from the U.S. and I understand prices have gone up.

Having said that, I like the 8.5 VR in .44 too.

Hope I'm not too late to this or off topic as t lookslike this is more about "real" automags than the AMT / IAI  produced Automag II, III, IV and V.   But I have seen posts on here about those. So here is my 2 cents worth.  I would pay actual money for new AMT  Automag IV barrels in  10mm and 45 Win Mag 6 inch and 8 1/2 inch.  What would be at the top of my list would be... A drop in barrel made for the AMT Automag V in 440 CORBON!  As a 440 CORBON is a necked down 50AE should just drop in, no need of a different magazine or changes to slide.  As I reload, a 440 CORBON would offer cheaper shooting, improved ballistics, and a wider choice of projectile weights. Clap

What is the rim diameter on the 440 corbon and would it fit the AMIV bolt face?

As I am waiting for delivery of my Automag IV ( I have a II, and a V as well)  I cant measure it out for you at the moment.  Since a 440 Corbon is a 50AE case necked down to 440  should be the same specs as the 50AE,  not sure if the bolt face is that much different between a IV and a V.    I have a friend  who also has an AMT Automag V  and he too loves the idea of a 440 Corbon barrel for that.  For what its worth I have seen Automag IV slides put on Automag V frames...  I'm sure someon on here knows the bolt face specs for the IV's.
