New AM barrels

I am trying to convince my partners that it would be prudent to make some AM barrels. Simply...I need input to see where the market is. Considering the price is afordable- what would you want and/or what do you think the market would demand. .44AMP vs .45 W.M., 6-1/2" V.R. vs 4-1/2" and/or 8-1/2" VR, stainless vs carbon steel. Thanks guys.

4-1/2" and 8-1/2" VR, stainless, 44 amp. Would truley love to see one in a .50 but that will have to wait!!

If you can't have fun doing it, then don't do it.

Me thinks you will be holding your breath a long time waiting for the new Auto Mag company to have acc Bbls for sale,,,

And regarding the Bbls Max is planning to make, I think its important to note that they will not look like production or "Dirty Harry" Bbls, his last word on this was that the rib design would look the prototype Auto Mag Bbls.

So for those who are interested in Bbls that have the production style look for the rib, this is the only option on the table.

So with that said, I would sign up for a couple,,,, A matched pair of 8 1/2" VR (357 & 44) would be nice to add to the "safe" (I for one dont like shooting the 8 1/2" Bbls, they look good in pics, but are just not balanced as well as the 6 1/2" VR Bbls)

I would also be interested in a 4 1/2" VR in 45 ACP (Sure would like Bruce Starks HardBaller gun, but thats a dream,,,)

Maybe one or two others (Bbls),,, maybe,,,

Well thats my starting order, but you better catch me before the Girl Scouts do, as I usually drop quite a bundle on cookie around this time of year! LOL

Hummm,,, If you are talking about Larry's custom (and mirror polished Bbls) I doubt too many here will be in the market for such quality. That kind of work come at a hefty price.

I dont see too much of a market for that kind of quality unless you were giving it away.

Brian do you have any sense of what kind of price range you can offer standard finish Bbls for?

Most here either struggle to pay the current going rate for Auto Mag Bbls ($1000.00 - $1500.00) and I cannot see a line forming for $2000.00 - $3000.00+ polished Bbls custom Bbls,,, But who knows as there is currently no one offering such items so we wont know for sure until there a supply and demand.

It would be interesting to hear from others about what they might be looking for and how they would be willing to pay. I have paid $2000.00 - $3000.00 and more for Bbls and it HURTS!

What say the rest of you, if you can order a Bbl whats on your list and at what price???

Approaching Grossmans work does not necessarly refer to polished finishes but more to the fit and finish of items like the vent rib and the barrel extension' internal finish. Im sure Brian himself will tell us that it is no small task making the vent rib attachment and the finish on the bottom side of the rib where it attaches to the extension etc.
