And what kind of wood?

I like the smooth finish. Seems to show off the character of the wood better than checkered.

A guy on ebay is selling Automag grips. I ask could he make smooth walnut instead of checkered walnut. I also think without checkering can see wood better. He said can do. Then I ask if he could make them out of a presentation grade type walnut. He said can do for a little extra. So they cost me less than hundered. As stated in his ad some fitting may be required and in one area of grips had to take a little off for safety clearence. I remember Lee Jurras said due to frame variations custom grips need to be made to each indiviual frame. He goes  by anydlof on ebay and email address is pfoldyna@aol.com What you see has got linseed oil only. Of course I used the o ring under grip screws. In any case for less than a hundered I'm very pleased with them..

Rick, they look great!  Sounds very reasonable too. I'll have to check the guy out.  Thanks for showing everyone.

What kind and size of O rings are you using? Are they standard hardware store type?

I got by O rings from Lee Jurras about 8 years ago. Someone on the old forum mentioned he found same size at hardware store. I think used for a household water fixture of some type. Maybe someone here will remember.
