AutoMagyar, I will have to disappoint you. Only yesterday I was at my club and being relatively new to the pistol shooting and after chatting to the guys I did not realise the pistol hunting is banned in Oz as well. That was my oversight for not reading all of the fine print. So I am restricted to shooting my metallic silhouette comps. Looks like I will have to take that Texas holiday with you one day ;)

Tom,
on your elevation screw, is it broken off down in there or is it just missing? It's a futzy little piece with a ball bearing in the side. It's either a #2 or #3 screw I think. Brian Maynard may have access to some as he made some sights for the last run of barrels and my memory says he made those screws. I only ever had to buy one, just like you, broke off in the gun when I got it. Low and Behold it was about $35 for the screw 10 years ago. I got it from Bruce Stark at the time. I got the right tap size (sorry I don't remember exactly, but I dumbly threw the tap in the box with the rest of the gunsmith taps), and removed the sight. luckily the broke off screw backed right out from the bottom, and then I chased the threads with the tap. My hole was boogered and tight, most likely from the gun being dropped on the sight, which is what I think broke the screw. Jason

Jason, the screw is missing completely. I took out windage screw out and it fits the elevation hole. Just wanted to confirm the size of the thread. I was trying to find ordinary screw and perhaps just locktite because they are so expensive. Walter Sanford from Automagparts is selling one for $47.50 (ouch!!). But in the end I think I will just bite the bullet and buy one since the other option is not so nice and not to mention I loose ability to adjust. I will check with Brian Maynard if he is got one. How do I contact Bruce Stark?

$47.50 for an elevation screw assembly doesn't sound that bad to me. It's only $7.50 more that what I sold them for over 10 years ago. Make sure you get a screw assembly with both balls and the spring installed and not just the "screw." Good luck.

With the exchange rate and shipping overseas it becomes significantly more. But yes I realise it's a whole assembly not just a screw. In the meantime I have mounted a small red dot reflex sight. Will test that soon.

The recoil action of the Auto Mag is very hard on scopes. Let us know how it works.

Beemer, the red dot is holding up well, I will try post some pictures soon. My metallic comp is at night on workdays so I think I will keep this set up as long as it holds up. Considering it was a cheap ebay scope too.
Also I have developed crimp die based on 357Sig crimp die from Lee. I will post that as a new topic. Tom
