None of the pictures I have show much about the trigger opening in the frame. Is it a pocket, or does it go all the way through the magazine well?

Max:
All of the VFDs I've dealt with have user settable parameters that control ramp-up, ramp-down, max herz (some go over 60hz), # of restarts per hour, constant/variable torque and reaction to digital inputs (switches) to cover the most used ones. Many VFD manuals go into hundreds of pages, and cover hundreds of parameters. The smallest VFD I've dealt with was running a 3/4 hp motor. The biggest is running a 100hp pump. Wayne |

Hundreds of pages... hundreds of parameters, eh?
That's hundreds more reasons for me not to get one.

Mine only had 20-odd pages. In Chinglish. Fortunately someone in Australia had translated it into English and uploaded it.

$232.00 worth of bits $425.00 worth of bits from last week About $1,100 worth of bits (includes the two lots above) I have another magazine, the barrel, a small pile of steel bar stock, and that's not even counting the tool purchases... Even though I cropped the images before uploading, they're showing up as huge when I click "Preview." I hope the forum scales them down to something reasonable like some of the other forums do... |

TRX302,
Have you considered making more than one? Even just frames, like 5~10 of them. I don't want to get into any regal issues but I would assume there are some ineterests for newly made AM frames. If you work around, that could cover lots of your expences. Again, this could be a sensitive issue...

I just cant imagine how you guys do these long complicated projects like this, its just awesome!
Did you see my post in this forum about the guy named Geoff that built one in 440 Cor-bon, a necked down to .44 cal .50 A&E? Was hoping someone here would remember more about this, the pic of the finished pistol looks incredible and his had to have everything up sized to fit the half inch cartridge in the gun, magazines, etc... Very cool work! |

Realistically, who would want one? Populating a frame and adding a barrel would cost more than just buying a shootable pistol from Gunbroker. Someone posted a picture of an Auto Mag with the back of the frame broken off; even that kind of damage would be cheaper to repair than whittling a new frame out of bar stock. |

Yes! And the Action Express case is enough bigger around than the AMP that the first thing I wondered was how thick the wall between the recoil rods and magwell was... I would love to have an Auto Mag in .50AE to match my AK-47 in .50 Beowulf... but in the interest of actually getting the project done I'm staying with the .44. |
