I gave up on buying brass after waiting for a year and a half. SBR uses Starline brass and had a sale not long ago where they were selling loaded ammo for less than the cost to buy brass, bullets, powder and primers. I got 450 rounds in a GI ammo can and never looked back. Brass problem solved.

I had and email from Starline saying it was available. I called right away, gave them my CC number, and was told it should ship in a few days.
Woot woot

After seeing this I checked my inbox and yep, email. Called this am and paid. I just got a tracking number. I had been on list since early 2023.

According to my back of the envelope calculations, the cost to load 50 rounds (purchasing brass, bullets, primers and powder) is about $60. Meanwhile, you can buy 50 loaded rounds with this same Starline brass from SBR for $45.99?
I occasionally buy empty brass when I can’t find loaded ammo to supply the brass I need. But in this case I think it makes far more sense to buy the loaded ammo in order to get the brass.

Mike,
I agree right now that SBR is probably a better way to go. I had back ordered this and don’t feel right about not taking what I ordered. And SBR didn’t have that deal they have right now when I ordered or I would have probably done that. And I do like to use new brass to form 357 AMP. I just ordered a good bit of 22 Savage HP loaded ammo. They are FMJ but I will shoot them and reload them to hunting rounds. It makes way more sense as that ammo is crazy expensive from some places.

I agree also. I committed and don't feel right about canceling either.
Mike, you got a screaming deal, and i wish i couldhave gottenon that deal. SBR does show 44AMP for $45.99. Plus $22+ for shipping. Sad I didn't get on the previous deal, but happy I got some brass now. |

My handloads are far superior in every way compared to factory ammo. Given the limited round count an Auto Mag frame is allegedly capable of withstanding, wasting life to fire-form factory ammo brass is undesirable. I have the same approach towards precision rifles. I feel better buying the best components and only putting the absolute best ammo through them.

www.hopmunitions.com has Starline 44 AutoMag brass listed for $37.99 per 100. I just ordered 200 so I will see how it goes.
