I just received a copy of a new book on the Whitney Wolverine.  It is a real jewel !  It chronicals the conception, design and production of a new American pistol.  The parallels between Harry's efforts and Bob Hillberg's efforts to produce a new gun are undenyible.  The inventor of the Whitney also designed the Wildy.  The depth of the authors investigation leaves nothing more to be said.  I am glad I have a copy as it is a good companion to, Auto Mag the Pasadena Days.  I have no stake in this but thought I would pass along the information.
Don Findlley is selling the book out of Lubbock, Texas for about $40.     mailto:donfindley@door.net" rel="nofollow - donfindley@door.net

159 pages, hardbound.

Very cool! I had one of these for years and loved shooting it but I sold it. Would love to get another but the prices have really gone up. Would love to have an Olympic Arms version but not on our Kommifornia safe gun list.

Thanks.

Hi Luc,
They go for between 6 and 9 hundred for a used one.  Here is one, almost new in the box  http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=255697467" rel="nofollow - http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=255697467   on Gun Broker.  There were also 500 nickel plated ones.
Here in California, I had to register mine as an assult weapon because it has a threaded muzzle.  Thats for the gernade launcher.
Rumor says the Mafia used them for hits as you could screw a silencer on.
Make sure the back of the frame is not broken out by dropping the hammer with the bolt removed.
Everyone, and I mean everyone who has shot the new Whitney, claim that they have feeding problems that are not easily fixed.

Cheers.................Bruce S.
