I was inspecting some of scoped rifles and pistols. Is there a preferred method to clean the lens? I ask this as I was going to up the solution that I clean my glasses but I am afraid it might leech past the gaskets around the rings.

Comments?

I use Eclipse Lens Cleaner with Pec Pad wipe (they are available at most of high end camera stores), but any SLR camera lens cleaning solution will do the job, I think. Just don't forget to blow all dusts off by low pressure air (hand blower) before wiping the glass.

By the way, I do not touch them unless I have to, like it got finger print or oil. They will be fine with minor dusts.

Gerry,

I agree with Yoshi that would be the best, and be careful because some of the newer lenses with the Multi-Coat can be damaged by solvents.

In the field, I must confess that I have improvised.
