While it's not an AMT...I built a .45 Long Slide on a Brownell's 1911 frame and a Fusion Firearms slide and barrel.  I have it finished but have yet to test fire it...it passes all safety tests short of actual shooting.

My question is...what is the proper recoil spring for a Long Slide?  It uses a standard length 5" recoil spring...just not sure of the poundage.  I have a standard 16 lb. spring in it now as that's what I had.  Due to added mass of the slide I'm wondering whether a 14 lb. or even less might be the better choice for proper functioning.  I know to use the heaviest recoil spring that still allows full functioning so there's that.

Does anyone know what weight spring AMT specified in their guns?

AMT used a standard 16lb recoil spring in their Longslide pistols.

Thanks for the info.  I had a 16 lb. spring in my gun but changed it to a 14 lb. after shooting it.  It was dropping empty cases right next to my foot...the 14 lb. spring gave it better ejection with no discernible difference in felt recoil.

I plan on building a 10mm Long Slide...hopefully in the near future.  When I do I'll start with a 23 lb. spring as Colt uses in their Delta Elite.  If that doesn't do the job of proper ejection I'll start going down in spring weight...just like I did with the .45.  14lb. spring seems to be the sweet spot for it.
