Very Nice!
And there is no way I will be trying to stop you, if anything I need to make plans to head south and visit for a test firing. Don't worry, I'll bring enough ammo for both of us!
Better make sure you don't forget your hearing protection with this one,,,

Fun toys, for accuracy and sport shooting stand by for about 6.00 bucks a shot. Some old GI can be cheaper but a few new IMI cases, CCI primers and Hornady Match 750 grainers tests the use of the word plinkers. There are several good surplus powders still available at reasonable prices. Powder charges are increased in 5.0 gr. increments. depending on lot numbers anything from 225.0 gr. to 245.0 gr. The Hornady 50 Cal. Powder measure in in a class by itself. In 240 gr. charge drops will maintain .5 gr. uniformity. FWIW dept.

The only thing worse is owning a Ma deuce and wanting to shoot it at Knob Creek. Five Grand won't get you thru the week end. Guys starting out will take 250 rds down for the week end and find out after 15 minutes of the first AM There fun is over. Been many a farm and business run out the bbl of a Ma Duece. Imagine shootinh Quad 50's??? I let the Gov't pay for my fun with the quads, back in '53

NONE, A MK4 Luepold will hold awhile, Niteforce is the only thing that will hold up, most scopes will only last about 1 round. Nothing cheap about 50 BMG rifles. if you want positive adjustments. This is not a plinker. Sell something else and get a scope that will hold up. Otherwise save your money.

Mr. Jurras knows his stuff. I've had my Nightforce on my .50 since '97 and it's fine. Might want to join or consult the Fifty Caliber Shooters Association at: http://www.fcsa.org

Larry, as Lee said, don't waste your money on a cheap scope...(ever)
As far one that will hold up to the .50 rifles, a friend of mine has a https://www.steyrarms.com/products/sporting-rifles/steyr-hs-50/" rel="nofollow - Steyr HS50 and it's topped with a http://uk.swarovskioptik.com/hunting/rifle-scopes-c2005" rel="nofollow - swarovski . He's shoot surplus (linked M2) ammo and the scope is still OK after many cases...

Don't expect any accuracy from those ball bullets, just like service ball. OK for machine gun blasting about one foot groups at 4-500 yds. You can make noise. With a match grade bbl, about one foot groups at 500 is good. I had a match bbl made for the Swiss Gov't, chrome lined. With Hornady match could shoot MOA to about 800 yds. Basically same powder about 240 grs. @ 2700 fps. Lots vary.

Larry, that is a great price!!! Are you loading or is your buddy loading for you? In my Barrett M82A1 I never reloaded for it, just used military ammo that was available at the time.
Reloading presses and die sets are pretty expensive.
As far as a scope goes you cannot go wrong with a Leupold Mark 4 or Mark 6 scope.
You have to pay to run with the big boys!!!

Hey, not sure if you got a scope yet, but I have been researching 50 bmg scopes for a little while and if you want to go cheap and yet have it still hold together - some 50 bmg shooters are using Burris Black Diamonds with success (good company rep for building optics to hold up on magnum handguns). Next best would be the Leupold (nice feature is the warranty if it does poop out). Night force - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5pVya7eask check out the bell on it flop around, probably due to thin tube material - also note the rear of the scope base not having enough security. Your gonna have to watch that short stubby rail you got on your gun - maybe beef it up with a longer rail and don't cheap out on the rings - get nice solid wide ones. If budget is no concern there is the US Optics scopes, but you could probably buy two of those rifles for what it will cost you for a TPAL - but they are built like a tank and absolute king of the 50 BMG in my opinion.

US Optics are excellent but for volume fire NiteForce is KING. Niteforce has been tested on dual Bofors 40 mm.
