I know a lot of auto mags have fallen victim to the foam inside the case they are stored in and that they say the case is for transport, not for storage. My 357 amp sets in my safe inside its case. It is a harder foam. Is it safe with this kind of foam or should i take it out of its case?

I would think that stuff would be ok. It was just the original foam that was the issue, it didn't play well with the original oil. You can always tear a little piece off the back and put some of your oil on it and see if anything happens.

If you want to keep the gun in storage for a longer time, oil it lightly and put the weapon in a small plastic bag (one to keep food in for the freezer).
It wil still fit inside the guncase and it's not in contact with the foam.
