Yup, thats Jim V's gun.
Sure is purdy,,,
I have known Jim for quite a while and have nothing but praise for him. He's been an honest and decent guy.
I still remember Col Bob offering that gun to me many many years back,,,
Sure makes you crazy when you think of all the ones that you could have actually had and passed on,,,

Well I could mortgage the house for it if it was worth anything after the local real estate meltdown. A fine example of premier gunsmithing! I saved the pictures to my automag file.

Yes,
what a beautiful piece. Wish it was anywhere near my price range.
A very rare and unique piece that most don't even know exists.

There are some others out there. If the price keeps going up I venture some more will come up for sale. Remember these sold initially for $ 3250.00 ????? :-) Speaks well for inflation, and some collectors that were too young to begin with. I can remember passing up a 300SL Gullwing for 5 Grand back in the late 50's...Oh well

Curmudgeon, I can remember in about '75 having to pass on a yellow V12 '68 Ferrari convertible. I can still even remember the exact price, $8,500. And there were XKEs I thought I couldn't go on living another day without. The problem was, in those days I couldn't have made the down payment on a pair of roller skates, let alone a Ferrari or Jag...
There was a place here that sold those kind, lots of neat ones. There were Jags including the big sedans, an Aston Martin (right hand drive), an Austin Healy (the MK 3000?), a Pantera and what I thought was really cool, a little white 4 cyl 190 SL. These had class.
It seems like once you get where you could afford stuff like that, you might not still fit in it.

Ginsaw...Had a Pantera in '75...Paid 8500, kept and DROVE it for a year, Sold it before I moved to NM the first time. Sold it for 9500....Oh well, it was fun while it lasted...In '76 an AM collector in CN wanted to trade me a '74 Panters('74) for the Mod 200 Bi-Centinneal AM. I turned it down figuring the Bi-Cent was easier to move around. Tho the Pantera was fun to drive and caught the eye. I was not a comfortable car to drive X-country...:-) The last time the Bi-Centennial changed hands it was 45K...FWIW dept
