41 JMP LOADING HELP NEEDED

   Very interested to hear that someone has actually fired an AM in .475 Wildey, heard of it but that's all. 

Ballistics aside, how did it perform with respect to feeding and case ejection given that the case width is 0.030" greater  than the AMP cases? Would you say feeding/ejection was as reliable as the .44AMP? Or did you get  jams? How many rounds did you put through the .475 chambering?

Lots of questions I know, but would really appreciate answers on this.

	Bullstix and others reading this thread. I did not design the 41 to be and improvement over the 357 or 44, only to offer another option. Back in the day, the 41 Revolver cartridge was coming into its own, and had created somewhat interest, the 41 JMP was just a sister cartridge so to speak. The case specs were sent to RCBS, and Clymer to make the reamers. There was no reason to publish the case specs. All one had to do was send samples of fired cases to your favorite die maker and they could make dies, the prefered method of most die makers. Same as making full length size dies for any wildcat a guy developes. Make another chamber from the roughing reamer and polish, presto you have a FL size die. In 1946 I had a 22-250 made in 1939, the full length size die was made from a section this same way. I rode my bike 12 miles to a hardware store that had a vise large enough to squeeze the case into the die, lubed with lanolin. A section of drill rod that fit inside the neck and then drove the case out with a ball peen hammer. These 10 cases would then last me all week while varmint hunting. When I was doing bench shooting and other load development it was a pain. The components I had were pre-WW2 none were available yet from post WW2 Now you guys than complain about lack of proper equipment know what it was like for early experimenters and wildcatters. The equipment was usually borrowed from where the guy worked. Back in the late 40's very few guys could afford the quality lathes and mills or tool grinders that are available today. So when I read that some guy can't figure out how to load his eighty oughty eighty, he either doesn't read or doesn't know how to get in outta the rain. If this view strains somebodys intellect I say --ck em.

	Andrew, did you get the 41 load info I posted here???? I loaned my 41JMP reamer to Kent Lomont, when he finished his bbl or bbls, he loaned it to a guy working at TDE. When I asked him back for it he told me about loaning it. Said he would call and get it back. When he called he found out the guy had been fired and apparently my reamer went with him. Kent never heard from him again. So actually have no idea where your bbl came from unless you got it from me or the factory. There is no telling how many bastard 41 JMP bbls are floating around. NOBODY knows whether they have an unfired gun and or bbl unless you have a letter of confirmation from the factory or the builder. After bbls have been shipped they can end up anywhere and on any action. Whatever offers the best price to sell to a collector or shooter. Its a shame it has come to this but you have counterfiters in everything from knives to cell phones, DVD's and cars. Thats the world we live in today. Collectors can't be too careful. FWIW dept
