Some of the old magazine articles mentioned the .44 AMP case was tapered, vs. straight for the rimmed .44 Magnum.
Somehow my google-fu seems to be broken, because I haven't been able to turn up a .44 AMP case drawing on the web. None of my loading books have a picture either. Is the AMP tapered or not? And if it is, why? I did turn up a ."44-06" case drawing - 1.285" long, .457 base, .456 mouth, reamed to .4275, which sure sounds like an AMP... |

This is the drawing out of Quickload...
It shows the taper, which is consistent with .308/.30-06 etc.
