To everyone. I have finally located a facility that wants to do this. We only need to finalize the details. But...we are going to make barrels! I need anyone here on the site who is seriously interested to write me at my e-mail address so I can get a clear picture of who wants what. Please e-mail me if you want to be on the list: info@maynardarmsco.net

For a while I doubted this would ever work out. But through a few connections I found what I needed to make it work. Please e-mail me ASAP on barrel configuration and if you are willing to put $200.00 down for good faith.

Brian,
What are you now projecting the final cost of an assembly to be?  Obviously it will depend on the configuration but a sample price range would help me.  No problem with the deposit, I would honestly put down the full price for the right barrel.

Well, years ago, I would have no problem putting down a deposit.  But after the 8 year Shrike debacle, 5 year MM23E nightmare, 6 year Serbu deal......I'm going to sit this one out.  I would rather pay a significant premium to avoid being strung along with BS promises for years on end.  My hair is gray enough..........

P.S. I almost forgot about the "New" Automag Company.  (palm in forehead)

LOL. Hey Tony. I don't blame you at all. These days everyone wants your money. I actually only need a little help this time and I think I almost have it covered. I am making 10 in all, 8-1/2VR for around $1500. DO NOT HOLD ME TO THIS PLEASE . I'm trying you guys just to get this project off the ground. The deposits will be for a special bbl configuration that we agree on a price for, other than the 8-1/2".  If I get 6 orders for special barrels, there will be 6ea of the 8-1/2" bbls being made. Unless the orders go nuts. Then we're talking major ramping up. These barrels are going to be original as can be complete with an original rear site assy, and accelerator kit. Markings w/b 3d 4th axis CNC engraved. The barrel will be built to original company specs. Material is pending but not enough to be an issue.

Ballpark is $1500.00 including original type rear site and accelerator kit. The only thing up in the air is material but the choices are not enough to make any difference. I'm asking anyone who is serious to e-mail me, only as a pledge for $200.00. No money at this point. I should start in approx. 30 days (all goes well) but it will be only at that time that I will be asking for any down pymts? This is a real deal. The down pymts are strickly for cash flow.

The Shrike is (was?) a belt fed 5.56 upper using M27 links for the AR15/M16. He promised alot. Took many deposits. Delays, more promises and excuses rolled out his mouth. After 8 years, some made it to the people who ordered them. Many people lost their deposit and were left hanging. The ones that show up on the gun auction boards are commanding $7,500.00-$10,000.00.
Robinson did the same and promised a belt fed upper for their M96 Expeditionary rifle based on the M63 Stoner design. I'm still waiting. Now he makes some type rifle which can switch calibers.
I've been waiting for a belt fed upper for.....oh.....35years.

May these "manufacturers" rot in Hell.

If someone wanted to corner the market on an aspect of the AR15/M16 and make boat loads of money, a belt fed upper would do it.

So Tony. If I end up with an extra on the shelf, will you be interested?
