I am wondering if the forum is starting to get a bit long in the tooth, with the demise of the new Automag, and several of the regulars getting aged out of active participation are we dwindling?  I have been a part of several forums that have done this and it seems to follow a pattern, when the really active run out of new stuff and/or they start getting old enough to start cutting back the forum starts petering out.  I hope this is not the case here.

I hope not. I still have much to learn from this crowd.

I noticed over the years that it's always more quiet here during summertime.
People spend more time outside and less in front of the screens...

I know a LOT of guys on here have a BUNCH of really cool guns, but there just isn't all that much to talk about if the subject is only AMT/Auto Mag.

I agree, I am an Automatic Magnum enthusiast. I have more than just AM's. I know we do touch on loads/info about Wildeys, Coonans, Grizzlys, and so on. But yes, with nothing happening in the AM world it's sometimes hard to find things to talk about that haven't been discussed many times before. With that said, I really appreciate this site.

Well, I just made a new subforum where you can post all about those cool guns you have Tony. And of course all other members!

That might give us something more to read and talk in the future...
Oh BTW Tony, MG42 or MG3?

I'm not much of a forum poster, but I like answering forum questions a lot.

I check the forum at least once a day. It needs to keep going!

I have nothing Big Bore to share, like Luc and Tony, but here's some small bore love..

That’s an MG42. It has a squarish barrel shroud. An MG 34 has a round shroud.

Yes you are correct Sir, but I guess my questionmark got you confused.LOL

The MG42 (8mm Mauser cartridge) has indeed a square barrelshroud and the MG34 a round one.
However, the MG3 is the same as the MG42 but in caliber 308 Nato.

Here's my MG34 in air defence setup as in the picture above:

Sorry.  Guess my knowledge of German MGs doesn’t make it passed the ‘40s! Did a lot of WWII reenacting in the late ‘70s (First Special Service Force). Best memory was being able to climb into the Panther at the museum at Fort Knox after a battle. Also knew a guy in St. Louis who had an operational Hetzer in his garage. I remember thinking it wasn’t a whole lot bigger than a VW bug.
