Gerry,
The lettering of the serial number is different too, like different stamps were used. I think better grade stainless was used in some areas too.
I only held two Pasadenas, and you know the owner I think!

1) The rear sight blade looks to be a Pasadena gun's and not N.Hollywood gun's.
2) The front ramp of rear sight housing is usually cut straight at around 30 degree. But this one seem to have curved cut. I've never seen one like this.
3) The serial number is engraved instead of stamped. This is usually seen on XP or very early Pasadena (less than 500?) guns only.
4) The case looks to be a factory black plastic with custom made cushion / fabric fitted by previous owner.
All I can say is it's unusual.

The rear sight blade on the one pictured looks different from the one on my A02000 series. There seem to be slight horizontal lines in the upper portion. In that area mine is smooth and flat. I somewhat remember that difference being discussed here a long time ago. The serial number on mine has the same look as the one in the photo. I assume they are both engraved, in the sense that both are clearly different from the more stamped looking numbers on a TDE.
A past owner did a nice job rehabing the case. So much so it fooled me into thinking it was a whole new rig. It's a question however how much it adds to the value to have an original AM case. I suspect many have been discarded and IMO for the most part the case is something just "thrown in", after which it goes into the back of a closet and is replaced with something different. Maybe a nice wood case or more likely a soft case that takes less space in the safe.
The grips are something some buyers aren't going to care about. But others may think a gun should have good condition factory grips. Some buyers also may like the after market wood grips, but I suspect other buyers may have a problem with finger grooves on both sides of the grips, if that's what that is.
