The one Auto mag is not really a Founder's Edition. To be included in the Founder's Editions it needs to have a FE-XX serial number. If you put a Pasadena barrel on a High Standard frame it does not make it a Pasadena.
I have four barrels that were made at the Excel facility. Among them is a 10 1/2" plain barrel in 45 Win Mag marked Founder's Edition. I think that they were just trying out Patrick's new Laser Engraver.  The four AMP's in the ads were all a part of the 29 pistols made at Excel's Shop by Larry Grossman. They utilized the old left over frame castings that Patrick bought from Walter. Larry built them and does terrific work but they do not have any of the improvements that the Loris made pistols have.    |
