I have a 550B and if I am in a good mood, and the gods are in agreement, and the moon is high, I can crank out about 300 rounds an hour for 38 sp and 45 ACP. I find books on tape very helpful, close the door, take out hearing aids, and let go and make some rounds.
Still a very good machine for the money.

Gerry,
With my RCBS Pro-1000, I usually get about 200-250 rounds an hour of 44AMP which includes manual case rube. So I guess I now know what I should expect from 550B.
By the way, I was so spoiled by APS primer system and don't even remember how to fill the primer tube any more.

Yoshi,
I have gotten my money's worth out of my 550B. I have had mine 15 years. Though I will say today, I would consider the Hornady Lock and Load, it's latest incarnation, with EZ-Ject, as of last year. Earlier units no.
The 550 is manual only, and it's pretty easy to get used to. The powder measure likes ball powders best. It works great for AMP rounds.
I haven't used my Hornady Lock and Load enough, but it works well. I got the case feeder for it, so it takes more setup.
I hope to have a long bench one day with about 5 machines permanently setup, I can dream at least.
