Hi, I'm actually having 2 Pasadena guns in front of me. I noticed the mags look different: one seems to have a longest baseplate than the other. After swapping them, I have found out that the mags are identical. It's the frames that are different! Are you aware of 2 different shaped Pasadena frames? Here are some pictures: Notice how the top frame is flat at the end, where the second one is more incurved. Notice how the magwell is thicker at the front on the lower one. As the frame is longer: ![]() There are more differences like molds marks on the right side (I knew about this), but I never heard about a different shape at the end of the grip. But I guess some of you knew about this right? ![]() |

I have not noticed this before. What does it look like with the grips removed?

Just a guess,
could it be that the pistol with framenumber A03 had a complete work-over? Sort of mill/file the whole thing off to remove the old pitting... That would explain the shorter frame and the thicker frontside in your pictures. Also the triggerguard/underside frame finish seems to be redone. That serial number looks to be newly engraved ,not rolmarked/stamped? (Seems like another style caracters, the A02 stamp is wider/rounder) Of course this is just my personal toughts by looking at your pictures. |

I noticed the engraving as well. The earliest engraving font was different than later Font to match the "AutoMag" font. Is that A03 serial number a 3000 prefix? If so, I've never seen that engraving font, with that high in serial number range. In
regard to the lower portion of the frame. I've seen that before and I thought
it was because the casting was flawed (bubbles, porosity), they most likely
removed the problem area to save the casting. Eric
