Query to anyone waiting on their AutoMag to be shipped.  From the July news letter there is a statement:

"We will start some operations and training next week. We should be shipping guns this month".

Just to ask, anyone on this board or that you may know of any AutoMag shipped or have  received their AutoMag this month?  With the understanding that those who are waiting may not be a member or follow this thread.

I didn't get a shipping update, but, I did get a flood of technical emails answered.

Trim-to-length for the cases is set at 1.298" and they recommend Hornady XTP for starting out.

When I talked to Patrick 2 weeks ago, he indicated that units will start shipping in groups once final quality tests are finished. He made it sounds like it would be August.

Sounds like they got the magazine issue resolved (at least for the time) and plan to get units moving out the door.

But, "NO", no shipping notification that I am aware of.

Thanks for the reply.  SO, Instead of "Should ship in July" it is an another month.  Got it.

I would like to see photos of the hundreds of bolts and the many near finished FE and in addition any CE that maybe in production.

I talked to Patrick also and he said some of the FE's should go out in August like Larry says.

I will say he sounded more positive about shipping last month than he did about August.

I signed up for the New Automag Waiting List two weeks ago, and got my 'Item Back In Stock Notification' email yesterday (Aug 1). I filled out the order form with my CC information, and got my order confirmation last night. I'm eager to see how soon it is ready to ship/ships.

I owned an original [used] High Standard .44 AutoMag ser # A06508 back in 1989; came in a gray plastic box, and included an extra TDE .357 AutoMag barrel, and both RCBS die sets. Had to sell it in the late 90's, regretted it ever since.  Ouch

Strangely, I've been working on an old AMT Hardballer all week, re-tapping the rear sight elevation hole [#6-64, special order from Travers] and trying out various bullet/powder combinations. This is my second Hardballer, too - I owned one back in the 80's as well, but it had an enlarged chamber so that got peddled PDQ.

I'm looking forward to the New AutoMag, my old .44 AutoMag was Magna-Ported and the guys at my local gun club used to hang out the clubhouse windows to watch the three-foot fireballs...  LOL  Back in  Back in Stock Notification

I don't believe we have another 7 months to wait.

I guess I am an optimist about this company. But time will tell.

Until I hear more, good/bad, I am going to assume we see something around September.

I think you made the right decision and will probably just have to wait about a month or so. Others stuck their necks out and took more risk by investing much earlier. It was a couple days ago I got an invite via PM to phone Patrick Henry III to discuss my concerns that I mentioned on this thread

He apogiized for the previous lack of communication and spent just short of an hour talking metallurgy changes, partner changes, new build approaches with CNC, future caliber considerations, pressure testing of the 44, etc. For not having a typical firearm manu. background, he was very engaged. After the call I was left with impression that he was focused on improving the classic auto mag without muxh reservation. He was generous in sharing the recent trials and tribulations he’d been dealing with. And sent me detailed photos as well. Very down to earth and easy to talk to. He won my vote of confidence and and ready to get back on board—once my wallet gets a little larger anyway.
