So my dream of getting something by September might actually come true.

I am debating asking if they could drill/tap for scope rails at the factory. That would save me some time on my end. And I would be more inclined to order a 6 1/2" barrel later this fall/winter.

Do your research on scope mounts.  The short recoil action of the AMP's is hard on scopes and mounts.

I think Gera has the best mounting system.

I had SSK mount one of their T"SOB mounts, no problem with the first 50 rounds that were a little warm.

Asked a follow-up question on mags and Patrick replied that they should start  being available soon for our use on original AM's.  He suggested a 2-4 week time frame but will have patience on that.
When you are up to your neck in alligators it is hard to remember your original intention was to drain the swamp

Do you have a pic? Just curious how this would work with the factory rib.

I don't want to cut the rib in any way. Just drill/tap it with rail that fits over the rib, if possible.

Maybe "saddle" the rib? Like how the rails for a Taurus Raging Bull works towards the front of the barrel.

I have a picture of the barrel setup. Will send when I locate it.

Here is a link to an old post here showing Gera's mounting system.  Gera put one on a 41 AMP Covina barrel and I was well satisfied with it.  My barrel was a plain one without the rib.

I do not know if Gera is still doing them.

Since this is the new auto mag thread should we be asking if “they” have any scope mounts in the works?
That would be a very nice factory option.

I guess I would like to get my gun before we request a new project from AutoMag.   Wink
