the contents of the magazine are as follows

plastic follower
metal plate with BHO pin
magazine spring

Ok, now it makes sense, well maybe thats not the right term, I now understand whats going on.

Thanks!

I was just wanting to see how much material was taken off the follower, put a tape measuring or a penny in the pic for size reference that's all. The stock SS follower is .475 w by .926 h.

BHO position, before

BHO post after

will do that tomorrow (penny next to the follower).

bear in mind, to begin with the phenolic follower is NOT the same size as the stock on to begin with.  So if you are just going a 1 to 1 comparison it will do you no good.

I actually had a thought here (not often that happens).  Easy answer to this measurement thing without having to take my magazine apart again and do comparisons that don't actually show anything useful.

If you have one of these new magazines and it does not engage the bho, measure the distance between the top of the engagement pin and the bottom of the top part of the slot which it should almost touch when the magazine is empty.

There you go, the amount you need to mill off the bottom of the follower

Easy peasy and no more wondering.  Takes care of any variance between magazines also.  If your pin already touches, you have a problem elsewhere.

Again here, looking at what I did to my magazine is a GENERAL guide.  Not specific.  It is pointless to use any dimensions of mine as each one CAN be different.

Really trying to make that clear here that each case can be different.

I've been a little busy the past few days, what with work and the riots in Dallas but I've just measured mine (using freshly-zeroed calipers) - and the distance from the top of the pin to the top of the slot in the side on my magazine measures 147-thou' - 0.147". Just for general interests' sake, of course - YMMV.

Follower is 3D-printed and 0.498" tall  (edited to clarify - I didn't make this one, this is what came out of the new AM magazine).

I was hoping this too.
If you were happy and you knew it, would you clap your hands?
