I received mine today. Thank you! Just a little disapointed by the gaps, not a big deal but would have been better without them. Except maybe if this is a "feature" present on the original foam insert too? |

No, the originals fit better than that.
The company that cut the foam before had been sold and the cutting dies were lost or thrown away. I went to a new company and I had to have dies made. I sent a set of the foam to them to get pricing. They said they could make the dies from that sample. I paid for the dies and had the foam cut. I do not know how they got off. The original foam had the pieces glued together. The fit can be made much better by moving the top piece of foam slightly and gluing it to the bottom. I have used silicone cement placed in small dabs. Let me try this first and make sure the glue and the foam are compatible and I will post a picture of the finished product.

I haven't had a chance to put mine in a case yet. But, for 20 bucks, and a little gap, it is A LOT better than what I had - which was nothing.

If you were happy and you knew it, would you clap your hands?

Here is the same foam and gun after I glued up the foam. You just move/stretch the top foam to where you want it and glue it down with Elmer's Glue or any white or yellow wood glue. That is what the foam supplier uses. Other glues work but the white glue is easy and gives you plenty of time.
I cut a piece of foam from the gun cut out and put the as shown. That raises the barrel up as it is not as thick as the frame which levels the gun up and closes up some of the gaps
