In the link above, it appears that this Pasadena (which seems to have a reasonable starting price) has a number etched on the right side of the receiver. It appears to be in the same format that the serial numbers are. Alpha character followed by numbers. The number also looks low enough to actually be a Pasadena number. I know that when these were being sold folks could pay extra for added options. Initials etched on frames and magazines, and custom serial numbers too. Was there an option to have the serial number etched on the receiver too? I have never seen this before. If so, wouldn't this create problems with the ATF and FFL paperwork if someone were to purchase this having a serial number on the receiver and the frame? |

This was an option and I have only seen it on low serial number Pasadena's.
The frame is considered the gun so that is the only serial number that has consequences.

I have a Pasadena that the original buyer "optioned" with his initials on the frame and magazine. I just hadn't seen an example with serial numbers. I messaged the seller and the reply was that the frame, magazine and receiver all are marked with the same number.

I have also tried to get some other images but for some reason I can't get any.
Please do take a very close look, there is some pitting , parts of the frame have been smoothed out also the windage adjustment looks to be enlarged (stripped) . My belief is there may be some hidden under the covers....... ?

I have an AutoMag II, 6" bbl., on the way and I would like anyone's comments:
It was built in Irwindale and the serial is H 4xxx. It looks to be in great shape but it looks as if a case let go and powder burned the chamber a little, hope it cleans up. Thanks. |
