I can't for the life of me remember how I got the old heli-coils out the cocking piece. Does anybody have a method they prefer?

There's a "Heli-Coil removal tool." Actually, a couple of different kinds. Look on eBay or Amazon.

I have used the appropriate size easy-out or a small torx bit with no issues..........
