I forgot about that Black AMP that Kodiak showed, I did not know it was DLC. I'm sure I did not know what DLC was at the time either. I think it was a carbon steel AMP also if I remember right.
One thing that would be hard to make look right is coating the cast frame. I find a shiny, pebbly finish not very attractive. That SIG P210 in the picture is a really gorgeous pistol.
What ever happened to those guys at Kodiak and does anyone know who they were?

I love the shiny stainless of the Auto Mag, but I admit to a pang of desire when Kodiak was showing off their shiny black DLC coated prototype years ago.
Perhaps it will be an option in the future. Might even be cheaper to make than the fancy polish jobs, it's an industrial process, not tedious hand work with a buffing wheel. |

And if your cant afford either a new top end or to buy a barrel and have it converted, you might be able to hunt down and get your hands on this custom Auto Mag: |

At this point your best bet is the new top ends they are planning to offer. Your only other option is to buy a barrel and have one made, and that is not likely to cost you any less. Its a bit of work to convert any other barrel, but if you desire an original barrel, that my be the path you are looking for. ATB GH

You have good taste Bill. That TDE Centennial or the Lomont 8 1/2" 357 are my favorites. That was Kent Lomont's personal gun and he tuned it, smooth as glass.
