I had a FLGR in one of mine when I got it and switched back to the "free" recoil spring design, just to keep it more original. Reliability was not related to the FLGR, but, the use of proper lubrication on the slide.

Neither of mine suffer any stainless steel galling, but, I think I got mine before someone abused them.

I did swap out the recoil springs they came with with heavier ones from Wolfe. I also swapped the mainspring and trigger spring with newer ones from Wilson. That was a choice on my end, not to fix any reliability.

The extractors are original, but, I do wish they had come with external extractors like on the other/later AMT models. I find that is a very nice change to the 1911  design on my S&W models.

I might change out the barrel bushings to a fitted/eliptical one from EGW. That alone improved the groups on my other 1911s.
