Your front site does NOT look like EDs front site, that was the site we are talking about here! Take a nice pic and then look how BIG his insert cut is, look at his site where it is file down, filings go into the factory sight blade base!. There are file marks from it going down that deep! Your site looks fine, just like beemers barrel site, no doubt those are but not on ED barrel. Look really close at his posted pic without my arrows and line and zoom in on it, it clearly shows these file marks and that would not have been factory. If the buyer got it this way and didn't send it back he was blind. Send ED an insert and then he can photo it sitting inside floppy around in the big sloppy cut and maybe you would understand it better. look at the botton flat cut, it's not even a straight flat, has a little bow if you ask me.

So bottom line is you must make you own replacement insert and fit it to your site and even get the thickness right. As for material, a soft plastic is better.  Anything too stiff/ridged will shatter.  Here in the snow-belt the kids use a big disc called a flying saucer to slide down snow covered hills.  They are made of a plastic that remains flexible in all temp and under impact, and I once knew a gunsmith that used one for his site inserts.  I saw it in his shop with a chunk cut out and asked what he was doing with a cut up saucer, and he told me the color and material were perfect for site inserts and he got it out of someones trash for free and should be able to make a thousand inserts out of it. Gotta love old school gunsmiths ;-) So take a look around for old toys that can be cut up, or maybe make trip to a craft/hobby store and see what they have for plastic stock and I'm sure you will find something that will work for you. I feel certain you can do this. its not rocket science and not at all worth paying anyone to do for you. Good Luck GH
