I recently picked up this North Hollywood 357 AMP 8.5 inch “two-liner” off of Gunbroker. The description said it was a safe-queen that was part of an estate sale from a gunsmith who had passed away. It was poorly advertised, not mentioning the fact that it was a two-liner and having a pretty bad listing photo. It was barely possible to tell that it was a two-liner due to glare in the photos. I managed to pick it up as the only bidder for $2975, which seemed like a pretty good price to me. The barrel to frame fit is excellent with almost no slop. It appears to have barely been fired, with a perfect Pasadena/North Hollywood bolt and no signs of damage to the frame and bolt retaining ring. There is some slight pitting on the frame, just above the trigger. The barrel itself appears perfect. The frame serial number is A04085. I watched Jeff Kelley’s youtube video (link below). Mine does not have the dark frame that his has. Although the etching is crisp, mine does not have dark lettering (including the Made in USA label), making it somewhat difficult to photograph, due to glare. I understand that the two-liner 357 AMP production numbers were 70 made with an 8.5” barrel and 10 made with a 6.5” barrel. Does anyone have any more information about these?

I fully intend to. I have an El Monte 6.5” 357 AMP with a pretty small chamber headspace. I hope it match this one, otherwise I’ll need to load to different headspaces. From the 6.5” barrel, I get 1,555 fps with a 158 gr Hornady XTP and Win296. The 8.5” barrel should give it a little more velocity.

It looks like someone has one of the dark frame two-liners for sale on gunbroker, similar to the one that Jeff Kelly had in his video. I wonder if the dark frame hurts or helps the value.

Actually, looking at the scuffing pattern, I think the gun for sale is likely the one he used in the video.

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1080722398

It went for $3025 after lots of bidding at the end. 31 bids total. Looks like $3000 is the going rate for a two-liner.
